Mukilteo lighthouseOn May 30, 1792, British Captain George Vancouver (1757-1798) anchored his ship the Discovery at the site that became known as Mukilteo. It is one of the oldest settlements in Snohomish County and the first county seat (1860). The iconic Light Station near the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry dock was completed in 1906 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Mukilteo was incorporated in 1947 and experienced new growth and development, including the opening of the nearby Boeing Production Facility in the late 1960s.

Mukilteo is located 25 miles north of Seattle, and is situated between Everett (to the North), Puget Sound (to the West) and Edmonds (to the South).
